Music at the Boat Museum
Mullin Mallin plays their inspiring music at Holmöns Boat museum on Wednesday 28 July at 19-21, incl. a break. Free entrance!
We play contrabass, accordion, clarinet, Cajun, djembe, darbuka, ram drum, tambourine, egg, goat feets and other things that can be used as rhythm instruments. We sing and play much Eastern European music (Bulgarian, Macedonian, Russian, Karelian, Romian, Bosnic, Slovakian e t c)
and have also Finish and several Sami inspired songs on our repertoire.

Appeal from Färjerederiet
It is lack of space on the jetty and the turning area in Norrfjärden and the bus has today difficult to turn in a safe manner, due to all cars that drive down att unload their cargo. If the bus will not be able to turn safely there is a risk that the bus tour to Norrfjärden will be cancelled for security reasons.
We therefore urge everyone arriving by car to Norrfjärden to avoid to drive out on the jetty, park temporarily in the turning area or unload cargo on the turning place.

Reminder of the Forum meeting with BBQ
Now it's time for the annual Forum summer meeting with BBQ. We meet on Wednesday 14 July at 18.30 at the Boat museum. We will give a short repost on

After the meeting we will have a BBQ buffet to self cost of 100 SEK, Children half price 50 SEK. Drinks will be sold to budget price. Sign up not later than Wednesday 14 July on the list at the shop.

For the third, the Island Race will be arranged on the 21 August, in accordance with the tradition, on the last Saturday before the school starts. Book tips for the summer
The Holmö son Gunnar Fredriksson, now living in Bonässund outside of Ö-vik, has newly presented a new book, describing the life on Holmön. In a pleasant, but some time serious way, the life on Holmön before and now is told. With a personal language and own memories, one can follow the seasonal changes from youth to later dates. It is both solemn and dramatic moments that are outlined in short paragraphs with many pictures and illustrations. Several of Holmöns homesteads and their inhabitants are described both historical and today. The book is suggested for a relaxed reading this summer.

Citizens proposal
From Holmön three so called Citizens proposals have been suggested to the Municipal Administration. These types of proposals are taken up in the local political assembly who will decide on how these proposals shall be handled. The three proposals cover a development plan [Read more (in Swe)], preserving the school building [Read more (in Swe)] and preserving rental dwellings on Holmön [Read more (in Swe)].

Extra boat to Holmön
The passenger boat Öfararen will accompany Helena Elisabeth as extra boat on the Holmön track during the two last weeks in august. The background is that Helena Elisabeth will be down classed from 173 to 59 passengers on August 15. Öfararen that can take 60 passengers, will run as complement. From September, Trafikverkets färjerederi (the ferry shipping) expect that Helena Elisabeth alone will have enough capacity for all who wish to go on the Holmön track.
