UMEVA informs regarding the new water pipe to Holmön
The 10 000 meter long water pipe between Ivarsboda and Holmön has during the last month finally been placed on the bottom of the sea. However, due to a leak on the pipe, no water supply has been pumped to Holmön. The Swedish Heavy Diver Group that carry out the work is currently working to solve the problem as soon as possible.

So far they has found one leak. Just after fixing that an other leak was found and now the pipe is inspected bit by bit to fix all possible leaks. Out at sea the work possibilities are gowerned by the weather and makes the work difficult for the divers. It is stil unclear when the water supply can be commenced.

High water on Holmön
The sea water level reach about 1 m over normal level in the morning of 14 December. The new small boat jetty became flooded and it looks like walking on water.

Pictures from the Christmas Luncheon
About thirty participated in the Christmas Luncheon arranged by the Church in cooperation with the Red Cross. The Luncheon was a buffet with traditional Christmas food. There was also a Lucia procession at the coffe after the meal. There was also a raffles and all profit from the activity was donated to "Children of the World".

The ferry tours at 15.30 from Norrfjärden and 16.30 from Holmön ran on schedule bute the tour 17.30 from Norrfjärden and 18.30 from Holmön are cancelled due to the weather with hard SE wind.

The ferry tours are cancelled for the time being. It is unclear when the ferry can be repaired and the traffic resumed. Another boat has been chartered but can, at the earliest, be in operation on Tuesday 6/12 to the 15.30 tour from Norrfjärden.

Due to technical reasons, the ferry tour today at 15.30 from Norrfjärden was delayed. The tour departed at about 16.00 and were back on schedule by the 17.30 tour from Norrfjärden.

A christmas luncheon is planned to 10/12 at the Vicar's place. It is an aggangement between the church and the Red Cross. More info will follow later on

Recycling station closed
Ö-miljö announces that the Recyckling station will be closed on Saturday 29 October. The reason is that the ferry is at shipyard and there is a lack of empty garbage containers since they cannot be emptied.

Extra ferry on October 20
There will be an extra ferry tour back to Holmön after the consultation meeting with Slitevind regarding wind power. The ferry tour will depart at 21.00 from Norrfjärden.

Älgfesten (Moose party) on Satuday
Due to the new EMV-requirement (credit card readers must be able to reed card chip), our current card reader has been blocked. We will therefore not be able to accept any card payments during the Moose party - only cash payments can be accepted. There will be some possibilites to withdraw cash from bank or credit card account at the shop but if possible try to get cash on the mainland. We hope you will be indulgent towards this and apologize for any inconvenience.

Island race for girls, young or old at 13 August
 Gather down on the jetty in Byviken at noon. You pay your start fee in cash and get your start number. Then there is collective warming up. The start is in Byviken, the through the cottage village pasing the church and all teh way to the old shop where there will be a drink station. Back via ”åkervägen” to the finish at Panget.
 At Panget there will be refreshments and a price raffle on the start numbers. There are, e.g., a voucher to Panget, a food basket from the shop.
The start fee is 100 SEK and all excess goes to the shop.
 So come and join us! Go, joggor run. No time keeping.
Register not later than 10 August on the registration list at the shop.
