New addresses on Holmön
The municipality has changed some addresses in the Byviken area. The previous numbering of homesteads along Byvägen proved to be inappropriate particularly in view of the new houses that has been built. The change affect the numbering along Byvägen (Village Road) from the jetty in Byviken to the Church Road crossing. [Read more about the new numbering (in Swe)]

Articles about Holmön

I Saturday VK there is a full page with articles about Holmön. The articles is about a book describing the time when Holmön was an own municipality during 1925-1973. There is also one article on VK website: http://www.vk.se/Article.jsp?article=231233.

The book will be released next week and is written by Erik Wångmar, scientist at Växjö University. HUF will by some copies of the book. They will be available for loan at the shop.

Landowners at Holmön
After Stellan Lundbergs and Slitevinds information meeting regarding their project to build a wind power park at Holmön, a workgroup of landowners was appointed to prepare this issue to the next meeting that will be held in conjunction with the extra annual meeting on 8 November. It is important that landowners, who have questions or opinions, present these to the workgroup so the group will have good information at the meeting.

Information regarding bus connections
For them who travel with bus to the ferry, changes of bus is normally done at busstop Påsklovsvägen except for the tours below where bus change is done at stop Centrum (opposite to ICA):

Weekdays afternoon early ferry (only Mon, Wed, Thurs)
Bus from Vasaplan (Vasagatan) at 14.20 or from NUS at 14.25. Change in Sävar at bus stop Centrum to buss 171 towards Gryssjön. The bus depart at 15.00 and arrive in Norrfjärden at 15.20. The ferry depart at 15.30.

Weekdays afternoon late ferry (all days)
Buss from Vasaplan (bus stop Vasagatan) at 16.20 or from NUS at 16.25. Bus change in Sävar (bus stop Centrum) at 16.53 to bus 171 towards Gryssjön, departing at 17.00 and arriving to Norrfjärden at 17.20. The ferry depart at 17.30.

Public meeting on enterprise in the archipelago
The National Association for Swedish Archipelago (SRF) will hold one of its meetings on Holmön during the weekend 22-24 August with HUF as host for this meeting. In conjuction with this meeting HUF and SRF will also arrange a public meeting on the theme: Enterprise in the archipelago. All interested are welcome to participate at the meeting. This public meeting will be held at Holmöns School on Saturday 23/8 between 9.00-15.30.

Olle Forsgren has made a suggestion for how the harbour area in Byviken can be developed. The proposal has been supported by the boards of the followinf assosications: Hamnföreningen, HUF, HAEF and Holmöns Samfällighetsförening. Aquarelle course
There are two places remaining at the aquarelle course 4-8 August on Holmön. Course leader is Christina Ärlestig, artist active on the West Coast. She is originaly from Tavelsjö and received Royal Art Academy price in aquarelle some years ago. She is a good pedagogue. We accept both beginners and experienced painters. The course will be held at the Boat Museum and live at Holmögården. Bo-Gunnar and Christina will arrange the meals. Price for the course is 1 550 SEK. Lodging cost 150 SEK/person and night. The food costs 180 SEK/day (Breakfast, lunch and dinner incl morning and afternoon coffee). Gravel on the new car park
HUF informs that the new car park will be gravelled during v 29 this summer, i.e., 14-17 July. This means that all vehicles must be moved from the car park not later than Sunday 13 July. HUF and the Harbour Association has agreed that paring will be allowed i Byviken during this work. When the work is completetd there will be limited possibilities to park in Byviken.
